Emmanuel Missions
Young Life is a worldwide non-profit with programs available in North Durham for teens in grades 6-12. We’re all about relationships; ones that start with meeting teens where they’re at, caring for them, and sharing the Christian faith in simple and understandable terms with no strings attached. WyldLife (Grades 6-8) takes place every other Friday, and Young Life (Grades 9-12) takes place every Thursday. Both programs are for all teens no matter who they are, what they believe, or what they’ve done.

In Young Life North Durham, we are praising God for the continued support and love that our communities show us. As of 2025, our Young Life North Durham team consists of two staff members, four committee adult volunteers, and thirteen volunteer leaders and buddies (buddies are our volunteers who work specifically with our teens who need extra support) in both our Young Life and WyldLife teams. Every year, we as a team have the incredible opportunity to step into the lives of adolescents and show them who Jesus is-whether they've met Him every Sunday at church since childhood, heard of Him a few times growing up, or have never heard the name of Jesus or had anyone in their lives to show them who He is. We do our best to create fun within the mundane in Young Life and WyldLife, striving to be a great example of Jesus through love, kindness, compassion, as well as His great sense of humility, an ability to not take ourselves too seriously, and to laugh at ourselves often. Our goal is to create a welcoming and comfortable community of peers that can grow with Christ at their own pace, without pressure, fear, or judgment.
Every summer, we take both our WyldLife groups and Young Life groups to a week-long summer camp, and every winter, we take our Young Life teens to a winter camp for the family day long weekend. We join our larger Young Life Ontario team for activities like a night at an indoor water park, a mega-club, and so much more every single year. Each interaction is led and centered around presenting who God is, what He did for us, and why in an easy to digest format.
